Weeding

Yesterday I was allowed to weed a section of the library collection.

The head librarian said to me that you really learn what kind of person you are when you start weeding.

I learnt that I’m the kind of person who likes to throw books away.

  1. This is interesting: when you were packing to move, you couldn’t stand to get rid of any of your books. Now that you’re in charge of other people’s books, you want to toss them out. 😀

  2. I love buying books. When I weed, it only makes room for more books which I will then gladly go out and purchase. It’s a viscious – though not particulary tragic – cycle.

    • I like to do that as well as I have absolutely no room in my house, books just sit in piles on the floor and when they start teetering I know its time to get rid of some. But thats what friends are for anyway, giving books to.

    • Reckless I am. But really some of the books had never been borrowed and they’d been on the shelf for years plus with it being a TAFE library a lot of the accounting and business stuff needs updating fiarly regularly. However since moving into a house the size of a small caravan I’ve become much better at getting rid of things.
